Recently, Marcus Davis sat down with The Businessmakers Show co-host Russ Capper to share how his entrepreneurial vision has spawned successes from former educator to current proprietor of Reggae Hut and the breakfast klub, a top tourist attraction and local favorite breakfast spot that has consistently received rave reviews, including recognition as the best breakfast in the country by “Good Morning America,” USA Today, Esquire Magazine, and Forbes Magazine. Davis also hosts a local radio program on Magic 102.1, the largest urban station in the city.

Russ: You bet. Tell us about The Breakfast Klub.
Marcus: Yeah, The Breakfast Klub is a place of culture and community. It's a place for all people. The thing that I enjoy most about The Breakfast Klub is that it's a place where in one corner you may see, uh, two CEOs hashing out a multi-million dollar deal and in the other corner you'll see two college students working on their final exam. And so it's a place that you come and enjoy and embrace one another and enjoy that camaraderie that we yearn for. It's a place for building community; that's our goal, that's our effort, that's our desire and I believe that's who we are.
Russ: Well, and I think from everything I've seen, heard and tasted in here you've accomplished that quite, quite well. And in addition to all those things you just said there's quite a good breakfast served here as well.
Marcus: Yeah and we do have some food here.
The spirit and entrepreneurial mastermind behind the breakfast klub and Reggae Hut Café, Marcus Davis is best known for his charismatic personality, authentic kustomer appreciation, and his tireless kommitment to the kommunities he serves.
Applying “kommunity” as his guiding principle in his business and personal life, he has kreated one of the most phenomenal restaurant success stories in the country.
The koncept for the breakfast klub was born after Davis, a native Houstonian, rekognized a void in the market for a unique breakfast restaurant serving signature items in a soulful, relaxed kommunity environment. He chose two of his favorite dishes from opposite ends of the country – “Katfish & Grits” from the East Coast and “Wings & Waffles” from the West Coast, and the rest is history.
The Businessmakers Show is a weekly show featuring video interviews with entrepreneurs from early stage start-ups to major success stories.
